As summer approaches, supermarket prices for various food products could see a decline. According to Denis Marchuk, deputy head of the Ukrainian Agrarian Council, there are several factors contributing to these changes.
Expected Price Drops This Summer
Egg prices have already decreased, as demand has fallen following Easter. Marchuk noted, "Additionally, more locally produced products are entering the market, which helps keep prices competitive with industrial offerings."
From June to August, prices for traditional vegetables are anticipated to drop, largely due to the harvesting of crops grown in open fields instead of greenhouses. However, the expert cautioned that compared to last year, prices may rise slightly due to inflation, energy costs, logistics, and other influences.
