The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a prominent digital privacy non-profit, has announced it will stop posting on the X platform as of Thursday. The decision stems from a significant decline in user engagement, with EFF reporting that its monthly impressions have plummeted from 50 to 100 million to just 13 million over the past year.
Kenyatta Thomas, the EFF's social media and video manager, highlighted the stark contrast in visibility, noting that a post on X today receives less than 3% of the views compared to a tweet from seven years ago. This decline underscores the challenges facing organizations in reaching audiences on social media platforms.
