Microsoft Teams is officially retiring its Together Mode, a feature introduced during the pandemic to create a more immersive virtual meeting experience. By using AI to place participants in a shared virtual environment, it aimed to replicate the feeling of being in a conference room together.
Although the feature helped reduce visual distractions, it was often seen as gimmicky, with interactive elements like virtual high fives. As Microsoft shifts focus to a more straightforward Teams interface, users will soon experience updated layouts that enhance functionality without the frills of Together Mode.
