Rivian R2 SUV Promises 335 Miles of Range

Rivian is gearing up to deliver its new R2 SUVs, targeting a more mainstream audience following the success of the R1S and R1T. The initial offering, the R2 Performance, is priced at $57,990, with a more affordable R2 Premium expected to follow in late 2026.

Both versions feature an 87.9 kWh battery, with earlier projections estimating a range of at least 330 miles. Recent leaks from the Environmental Protection Agency reveal that the R2 Performance will achieve an impressive official range of 335 miles when equipped with 21-inch wheels.

Interestingly, outfitting the R2 with smaller 20-inch wheels yields a lower EPA range estimate of 314 miles, primarily due to the drag created by the all-terrain tires.
