While it has improved since its troubled launch in 2024, users still encounter issues with its accuracy. A recent analysis revealed that AI Overviews is correct 90% of the time, meaning that for every ten responses, one is misleading or incorrect, amounting to hundreds of thousands of inaccuracies every minute.
This analysis, conducted with Oumi—an AI model developer—utilized the SimpleQA evaluation, which tests generative model accuracy with over 4,000 verifiable questions. Following an upgrade to Gemini 3, the accuracy rate rose to 91%, highlighting a significant improvement in performance. However, even this improvement indicates that tens of millions of incorrect answers are generated daily.
