Governments Can Engage Public on AI Use

A recent study highlights that direct interactions with artificial intelligence have minimal influence on public opinions regarding its use in governmental decision-making. In contrast, providing accurate information about AI technology has the potential to markedly change how people feel about it. Conducted by Professor Yotam Margalit from King's College London and Dr. Shir Raviv of Tel Aviv University, the research involved over 1,500 respondents in a controlled experiment that simulated real-world AI experiences. The findings shed light on the necessity for governments to actively educate the public about AI to foster more informed discussions.
