Students Compete in NASA Lunar Robot Challenge

At the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida, students are competing in NASA's 2026 Lunabotics Challenge, showcasing their ingenuity through the design and construction of lunar robots.

This year, forty-seven teams from various universities across the United States built remote-controlled machines capable of maneuvering across rugged lunar landscapes and constructing regolith-based structures, similar to those required for upcoming Artemis missions.

The Lunabotics Challenge not only highlights the potential of these student-created robots but also serves as a valuable educational experience, preparing the next generation for careers in space exploration and technology.
