South Korea Introduces Basic Mobile Internet Access

South Korea is pioneering a novel concept akin to universal basic income, but this time for mobile internet access. According to a statement from the Ministry of Science, more than 7 million subscribers, primarily seniors, will receive basic internet service at speeds of up to 400 Kbps after exhausting their main data packages. This initiative aims to enhance digital accessibility and bridge the connectivity gap for older populations in the country.
