No Plans for Smash Bros. Movie Yet

The highly anticipated Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to premiere this week, expected to achieve blockbuster success. Among its significant surprises is the inclusion of StarFox's Fox McCloud, tantalizing fans with speculation about a potential Smash Bros. crossover film.

However, in a recent interview, Nintendo and Illumination clarified that they are focusing on one film at a time. Shigeru Miyamoto, the Mario franchise creator, stated that a joint feature containing all Nintendo characters remains unlikely at this point. Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri mentioned ongoing discussions to incorporate characters from various franchises in a fun manner, but emphasized the absence of plans for a shared cinematic universe.
