NASA has announced the selection of more than 30 small businesses for its Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, allocating approximately $16.3 million in seed funding. This investment aims to foster innovative technologies that benefit both the agency and the broader space economy.
Jason L. Kessler, program executive for NASA's SBIR/STTR program, emphasized the importance of supporting early-stage technology and the enterprises behind these innovations. He noted that this initiative is crucial for advancing America's presence on the Moon, enhancing human exploration of Mars, and improving life on Earth.
The awards are part of two distinct areas within NASA’s SBIR/STTR program, which are designed to promote commercialization and technological advancement.
