Mixtape Publisher Assures No License Issues Ahead
- Publisher refutes claims of delisting due to licenses
- Game features songs from artists like Devo and Smashing Pumpkins
- Developer paid for perpetual music licenses to avoid future concerns
The creative team behind Mixtape has reassured fans that the game will not face delisting issues due to expired music licenses. Annapurna Interactive and developer Beethoven and Dinosaur have confirmed that all licensed tracks, featuring renowned artists such as Devo and The Smashing Pumpkins, are secured for perpetuity.
During a recent interview, creative director Johnny Galvatron emphasized the importance of maintaining these rights, stating that they paid extra to ensure the music would remain part of the game indefinitely. Following the interview, Annapurna reiterated the message through social media, labeling the fear of delisting as unfounded.
With a history of similar titles facing removal from digital platforms due to license expiration, the reassurances from both Annapurna and Beethoven and Dinosaur offer a sense of stability for the game's future.
