Microsoft Enables Removal of Copilot Button in Office

Microsoft is set to release updates for its Office applications that will allow users to disable the floating Copilot button. This button, which has recently appeared in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, has sparked frustration among users, particularly in Excel, as it obstructs visibility of cells without an option for complete removal.

According to Katie Kivett, Microsoft’s partner group product manager, while user engagement with Copilot has increased, the company recognizes the need for users to have more control over its presence. This upcoming update aims to enhance the adaptability of Copilot, ensuring it complements rather than disrupts user workflows.
