- Features include a 5.89-inch display and wireless gameplay
- Backward compatible with over 80 existing Evercade cartridges
Blaze Entertainment has announced the launch of the Evercade Nexus, a new handheld gaming device. Set to succeed the Evercade EXP-R, preorders will start on April 1, with a retail price of $200 ahead of its expected shipping in October 2026. An enticing Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack cartridge will be included with the device.
The Nexus boasts significant enhancements over its predecessor, featuring a larger 5.89-inch IPS display, dual analog sticks, wireless headphone support, and the innovative EverSync for local multiplayer gameplay. This functionality allows gamers to wirelessly connect and share games with other Nexus consoles, reminiscent of the multiplayer capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS.
Designed to support 32 and 64-bit games, the Nexus also includes a TATE mode for vertical arcade games. With a 5-hour battery life and Wi-Fi 6 support for quicker downloads, it guarantees an upgraded gaming experience. Existing Evercade owners will benefit from the device's backward compatibility with over 80 cartridges from its retro collections.
