The director of the canceled The Last of Us Online has revealed that many of his former colleagues still reminisce about the game, calling it potentially the best multiplayer experience they've encountered. The game's development was halted in December 2023 as Naughty Dog chose to refocus their resources on future single-player projects, including Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
Vinit Agarwal, the former game director, expressed his devastation over the cancellation, noting he received the news just 24 hours before it became public. In his recent tweets, he highlighted how many still believe in the project's potential, vowing not to let any future work go unseen. After nearly seven years with Naughty Dog, Agarwal has embarked on a new venture by establishing his own game development studio in Japan.
