Economist Oleg Pendzin has analyzed the price fluctuations of Easter baskets over the years and discussed the potential for further food price increases as the holiday approaches.
Pendzin recently appeared on the News.LIVE broadcast, where he commented on the impact of rising fuel costs on food prices in Ukraine. He noted that while fuel prices are a concern, they are not the primary driver of current price increases since much of the stock still reflects last year's harvest.
However, the situation may change in the coming months as spring agricultural activities commence. The cost of these operations is expected to rise by approximately 30% due to increased fuel prices and significantly higher costs of nitrogen fertilizers, which are crucial for the agriculture sector.
