Warzone Shuts Down on PS4 and Xbox One Soon
- Warzone will cease operations on last-gen consoles
- Modern Warfare 4 will not be available for PS4 and Xbox One
- Existing players can play until the new season starts
Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Warzone will soon be unavailable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as it transitions to support Modern Warfare 4. The new title is set to launch in October exclusively on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
With the start of Season 1 just after launch on October 23, Warzone will integrate with Modern Warfare 4's content and seasonal progression. Notably, the game will no longer be playable on last-gen consoles from this season onwards, with new downloads being discontinued by June 4.
Additionally, the in-game store for Warzone on these platforms will be removed later in June. This marks a significant shift as Call of Duty embraces current-generation technology, closing a notable chapter from Warzone's initial release in early 2020.
